The Training Division of the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response provides County and New York State fire training courses to the career and volunteer fire departments, preparing their members to meet the requirements of their job and the needs of their customers - the residents, businesses and visitors to Dutchess County's Towns, Cities and Villages.

We manage the delivery of training programs for the 2000 plus firefighters who serve Dutchess County. Training is conducted by certified County and State Fire Instructors and guest lecturers at the Training Center or at local fire stations.

In addition, the Training Division oversees the County’s Training Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. The Training Division serves as a resource center for the County's 37 fire departments, as well as all the EMS and Police agencies serving the residents of Dutchess County.
